The Paul Soquena Junior Golf Scholarship Program

Supporting youth golfers in Hawaiʻi and the Philippines since 2016.

About the Program

Started in 2016, Mariano-Soquena Foundation, Inc. Founder & CEO, Gino Soquena, with the help of the Santa Barbra Golf Course Board of Directors, created the Paul Soquena Junior Golf Scholarship Program which supports 20 children in Santa Barbra, Iloilo, Philippines.

Founder & CEO, Gino Soquena sponsors 10 children and the City of Santa Barbra, Iloilo sponsors another 10 children. Each “Scholar” receives a monthly stipend used for schooling and is granted access to lessons, practice, and golf at the Santa Barbra Golf Course at no cost.

Hawaii Scholarships

Each year, one girl and one boy in Hawaii affiliated with a golf program will be awarded a $2,500 Scholarship to help with their college tuition.

Philippines Program

In the Philippines, 20 youth ages 5–18 receive a monthly allowance for school expenses, meals, and transportation — plus golf instruction through course partnerships.
